Fr. Elijah -- The Film Penned by John O'Brien and Anton Casta, this adaptation of Michael O'Brien's hugely popular apocalyptic novel brings to screen the gripping tale of Father Elijah Schäfer, a Carmelite priest, on a secret mission for the Vatican which embroils him in a series of crises and subterfuges affecting the ultimate destiny of the Church and the world.
The Threshold -- Short Film Inspired by Crossing the Threshold of Hope and Spe Salve the flm explores a couple's need to detach themselves from the 60's which glues them to false ideals.  John and Emily live in a dilapidated old farm house on the edge of despair. A visit from two mysterious "flower children" youth challenge and expose their souls and unravel their deep-most mystery -- why MIT's star professor of physics and the campus "rainbow girl" live a dark hidden life in the squalor of an abandoned house?
The Tyburn Tree Edmund must face his own brokeness when he discovers Gilbert, the young rich playboy who heckled his play's premier showing of 'The Tradgedy of Saul' for the Austrian Empress, is the first to provide a safe house to him after his undercover return to England.
The Gates A shell explodes. The kerosene lamp flickers. Half soaked in mud and excrement, Louis continues a letter to his mother. Many of his comrades have fallen. Why is he chosen to carry on living, for the memory of the dead? The Gates is a short film that alludes to recent scandals and how many good priests have become lepers in the communities they serve -- suffering for the sins of others, they have become Christ, mocked and crucified.

Welcome to mission2films. We are a young energetic and creative new film production house with partnerships throughout Canada, the United States, England, Poland, Slovakia, and Italy. Our goal is to help bring to the screen emotionally charged think-films that deliver spirtually rich payloads. In this endevour we voice anew Robert Bresson's dictum --  "Make visible what, without you, might never have been seen."

Current works in development include:

1. Campaign to attract co-producers, top-tier endorsment, capital investors, and secure distribution as a ramp-up for development of the full length feature, "Fr. Elijah" based on the screenplay adaptation by John O'Brien and Anton Casta of Michael O'Brien's landmark novel.

2. The full length film screenplay, "The Tyburn Tree" -- a historical drama on the life of St. Edmund Campion and his path between God and Queen.

3. The short film "The Threshold". With a tag line that reads -- two couples, one life revisited, this is a story that explores the theme of inner  isolation and the nature of hope. When John and Emily are challenged by visit by two mysterious youth they must face their innordinate attachments to the false promises of the 60's flower-power culture.

4. A short film and two derivative TV spot commercials entitled, "The Gates" that explores the persecution of dedicated and holy priests who suffer for the sins of their fallen confreres. Production is slated for late September 2010.

5. Two animated shorts:  "The Cave That Was Full Of Itself" based on Jude Fishers's short story  and "The Small Angel", Michael O'Brien's children's short and featuring the sketches and paintings used in the original limited edition hardcover.

6.  Several feature length screenplays:  the love story, "Await The Promise" and a sci-fi mystery drama entitled,  "'Drummond".

Screen Plays

wait-on-promise

It is 1968, the Prague Spring and a brief amnesty of hope in the east while the west revels in the summer of love. Two silent monochrome figures come out of the shadows, spiritual partisans, they've found each other in the solidarity of suffering that throws lives together and now threatens to tear them apart.

[Elder] We Pikwakanagan call that place -- Drummond. It is sacred ground. It is a grain of Eden, one of many scattered upon the earth.
[Reporter] Did you see the students before the accident?
A beat. The low toned thom of the Sacred Heart drum continues in the distance.
[Elder] They are a gift.
